Doris Jean Armstrong Sept. 13, 1944 – Aug. 7, 2012 Doris Jean Armstrong, age 67 of Monroe, died at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 7, 2012 in her home.  She had been ill for two weeks. Born September 13, 1944 in Toledo, she was the daughter of Harold W. W. and Leota S. (Nelson) West.  Doris was a devoted Christian who loved Jesus with all her heart.  She was a very giving and helpful person to her loved ones and strangers.  Doris often gave rides to hitchhikers and also provided them with food and shelter when needed.  She touched the heart of everyone she met. Doris is survived by her companion of six years, Michael Miller with whom she made her home with; three children, Eric D. (Laura) Eng of Salem, Oregon, Kevin E. (Amanda) Eng of Everett, Washington, and Michelle I. Eng of Las Cruces, New Mexico; three brothers, Walter of Florida, William of Temperance, and Nelson of California; two sisters, Sue Durfey of Temperance and Juanita Knab of Monroe; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Doris was preceded in death by three brothers, Eddie, Jerry, and Jimmy West; and two sisters, Jackie Webb and Florence Holmes. Doris will be cremated in accordance with her wishes.  A memorial service in her memory will be held tonight at 8 p.m. at Rupp Funeral Home.
